There
are two kinds of officers in the Presbyterian Church

We
are governed by an elected board of 14 Elders called the Session. The
elders serving on the Session are also the Board of Trustees of the
Corporation named Community Presbyterian Church of La Mirada. The
Session is made up of eight committees, each with specific
responsibilities for leadership outlined in The Book of Order. The
Pastor is the moderator of Session and also attends most committee
meetings in an advisory capacity. The Clerk of Session serves as the
recorder of all session business. The eight committees are:
Worship
Christian Education
Mission
and Evangelism
Fellowship
Stewardship and Finance
Buildings and Grounds
Administration and Personnel
Nominating
We
are served by an elected board of Deacons, who offer encouragement,
compassion and help to members of the congregation and community.
All
officers are elected to serve for a term of three years but do not serve
more than 6 consecutive years.
