OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD 2008
At CPCLM this year, 76 shoe boxes were filled with wonderful surprises
for at-risk children as part of Operation Christmas Child (OCC).
OCC brings joy and hope and the Good News of God's Love to children in
desperate situations around the globe.
Samaritan's Purse, which organizes
Operation Christian Child, sent the following update to Presbyterian
Women Special Mission Committee.
"We are deeply grateful for your
congregation's commitment and support of Operation Christmas Child in
2008. Some 8 million gift filled shoe boxes were collected,
including 4.9 million in the United States--the most ever since the
project's inception 16 years ago. That's 8 million children and
their families who will hear the Good News of salvation through Jesus
Christ, and it's mission-minded churches and groups like yours who make
this spiritual harvest possible."
Together we can!!
Since 1993, more than 61 million shoe
boxes have been packed, shipped, and delivered through OCC.
To all who participated in this
hands-on mission project,
GOOD
JOB!!

Presbyterian Women Continue to Support the Angel Project
The Angel
Project is an on going program of the Presbyterian Women Mission
Committee. Through
the
program we have collected and delivered many items to Human Services
Association (HSA) for
their
gift distribution at Christmas time. Recently we have contributed
several knitted and crocheted
baby blankets
made by the women at CPCLM, along with two dozen wooded cars, wooded
blocks, a
cradle and
stroller (with doll), all made by seniors at the Whittier Senior Center.
All of these items were
received
with much appreciation and thanks.
Thank YOU for
helping support this local mission project.
That's not
all, Presbyterian Women plan to deliver an Angel Project
Easter package to HSA by April 9. We request your help
with this project by donating some baby items such as blankets, diapers,
shirts, etc. Also suggested are lotions and shampoos, and maybe
some Easter candies, Easter basket or whatever would be good for Easter
and Springtime.
Let's put
together a nice package to be delivered by April 9th. The young
women at (HSA) appreciate these items very much. All contributions
need to be at church by Tuesday, April 7.

Any
Soldier
PWMC has
reinstated the much favored Any Soldier program with a few changes.
The Mission
Committee will supply you with the shipping boxes and the overseas
addresses.
You, or a
group
of you could then fill the boxes and ship them. Shipping charges are
$10.35 for each box.
The Women's
Mission Committee would like some feed back regarding this new process.
What would you
like to see done differently?
