May 21, 2006 - Amy Lambert

Amy is a southern California native. She began playing trumpet
at seven, studying trumpet with her father who was a professional free-lance
trumpeter in the Los Angeles area. She received her BA in Communications from
Pepperdine University in Malibu while attending on a trumpet scholarship. She is
the Principal trumpet player in the La Mirada Symphony Orchestra, and she
performs for local musicals, churches, weddings and parties. In addition, she is
the trumpeter for an all female Dixieland jazz ensemble, "The Belles of
Bourbon Street" recently featured in the April 7th edition of the LA Jazz
Scene.
Professionally, Amy is the Director of Pupil and Special Services for the
Beverly Hills Unified School District where she oversees special education and
child welfare and attendance for the district. She received her Masters Degree
in Occupational Studies at CSULB and is completing her doctorate in Education
Leadership at USC.
She and her husband Tim (also a school administrator) reside in San Pedro with
their two terriers Shatzi (a Mini-Schnauzer) and Bailey (a soft-coated Wheaten).
In their free time they enjoy travel, wine tasting and trail running.
During our 10 a.m. worship service Amy beautifully performed:
Adagio from Concerto in D Minor - Thomas Albinoni
When The Saints Go Marching In/Just a Closer Walk With Thee - American
Traditional
Hornpipe - Georg Frederic Handel
